A couple of weekends ago, I got to take a trip to North Carolina, to visit my family. I had the most awesome time! I took nearly 200 pictures...here is a sampling.

Of course, the #1 activity on my trip was playing with my 1-year-old nephew, Cass! He is soooo cute, and lots of fun also!

This is a shot of my brother-in-law, Chris' new screened in porch. My stepdad helped him build it, and yes, that is a TV mounted near the ceiling. Each night, after they are done watching, Chris must climb a ladder and take the TV off its brackets & keep it inside. Seems like alot of work & maintenance, but it is soooo cool!

We visited Hendrick Motorsports, where we got to watch guys work on Dale Earnhardt, Jr.'s cars. I must admit, it was kind of weird taking pictures & video of them working; after all, that would be really strange if people came to MY workplace & filmed me! (That would prove to be VERY boring.)

They had a real racing seat at Hendrick's that you could actually try out! It proved to be made for a male driver, as it was too narrow for my hips.

Next, we visited Lowe's Motor Speedway, where we took a van tour of the track itself. They took us around the track at 70 MPH, in order to give us a taste of the way the banking in the corners feels like. The banking makes each corner three stories tall! It was awesome & I highly recommend the tour to any race fan, as it only cost $5 per person. We got to visit victory circle as well...

This is a picture of Cale Yarborough's handprint, signature, & footprint in cement. Note how little he is! That is my mom's ladies size 6 shoe on his footprint! My foot looked like "sasquatch" compared to his!

We went to the race shop owned by Dale Earnardt, Jr. "JR Motorsports", and I got to pose next to the man himself (well, the very realistic wax figure of him)! I picked up a couple of cool Whisky River t-shirts & other souvenirs for my boys at the gift shop. Whisky River is the new club in Charlotte that Jr. opened recently. Hopefully next time I will get to party there!

Also, we visited Dale Earnhardt, Inc. which is Jr.'s dad's museum. It was very classy; even the restrooms were impeccable. Clean, and furnished with beautiful, heavy-duty hardware!

This mosaic was made with postage-sized pictures sent in by beloved fans of the late Dale Earnhardt. They were then positioned in order to make the large picture...very cool!

We went to Dale Earnhardt's hometown of Kannapolis, and visited the huge statue placed downtown in his honor.

On Lake Norman is the Rusty Rudder, where it's been common to see famous NASCAR drivers, even a professional wrestler there! Chris & Celeste once saw Rick Flair dining at this establishment. My trip was truly wonderful; one that I'll never forget! I'm already trying to plan another visit for next year; this time with my boys!
